As a fighter who has encountered wardrobe malfunctions during her career, Ronda Rousey is a proud supporter of the UFC's unprecedented uniform sponsorship deal with Reebok.
The women's bantamweight champ revealed that she was consulted several months ago to help advise Reebok on how to approach designing gear for women athletes.
"I've known about it for a little bit," Rousey told MMAFighitng.com's Ariel Helwani. "I was consulted a bit for advice on the whole development because women present a unique problem in MMA clothing. I've had some near-accidents so I'd know the kind of problem they have; so I've been talking to them.
"Women's clothing for MMA has never existed before so I'm excited to see what they come up with."
The champ describes her fight night attire as "Darth Rousey" since it is mostly plain black gear. She is adamant that since her fight gear featured minimum sponsors, this is the perfect deal for her as a fighter.
"This is exactly what I've been waiting for. I've never had a sports apparel sponsor and I like to keep my fighting clothes as plain black as possible so no one will be upset - it works out perfectly for me."
