On the heels of a big win at the end of November, lightweight striker Edson Barboza's next fight will be a home bout in Brazil. Barboza (15-2) has won his last two bouts, stopping Evan Dunham with a body kick and winning an impressive decision over Bobby Green. The 28-year-old is known for his exciting stand-up skills and ability to knock opponents out with head kicks, leg kicks, and body kicks. His only defeats in his MMA career are to Jamie Varner and Donald Cerrone.
Johnson (15-8) has won 3 straight since his surprise defeat to Reza Madadi in April 2013, taking victories over Joe Lauzon, Gleison Tibau, and Melvin Guillard. The TUF 12 runner-up was scheduled to fight Josh Thomson at UFC on Fox in July, but an injury put him out of action for the rest of the year.
A pair of other notable fights on this February 22nd card in Porto Alegre, Brazil include Cezar Ferreira against Sam Alvey, as well as Rustam Khabilov versus Adriano Martins.
