BE's Baddest Greatest Striker Tournament: #3 Shogun Rua vs #6 Wanderlei Silva

Vote now in the Bloody Elbow Baddest Tournament to determine the Greatest MMA Striker of All Time. Today's match-up: #3 Shogun Rua vs. #6 Wanderlei Silva. Vote now!

June M. Williams

UPDATE: A valiant effort by Igor Vovchanchyn, as he managed to drag the #2 seed to the limits, but in the end, Anthony Pettis did indeed triumph, 50-45. Pettis takes on Robbie Lawler in a battle of UFC champs next round.

No big surprise in our last match, as #1 seed Jose Aldo had little trouble taking out #8 seed Maurice Smith, 54-4. The UFC Featherweight champion now moves on to a clash with Carlos Condit.

Today, we wrap up the opening round, and we do so with a bang. #3 seed Shogun Rua vs. #6 seed Wanderlei Silva. It's a battle of old school Chute Boxe, and a fight many of us would have given our teeth to see for real back in Pride. Expect lots of knees, soccer kicks, and general brutality. Sadly, only one man will move on and claim the final spot in the round of 16. Waiting for the winner? A tough match-up against Junior dos Santos. You choose who will meet Cigano.
