Serbia's Darko Milicic was one of the top NBA prospects out of Europe, and in 2003 he was drafted 2nd overall by the Detroit Pistons, ahead of such notable stars as Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade, and two picks behind #1 overall selection LeBron James. Unfortunately, Milicic's NBA career was not a successful one -- although he was part of the 2004 Pistons championship team -- and the 7'0" tall center has been out of basketball since 2012 after bouncing around from team to team over the span of 8 seasons.
With basketball out of the way, the 29-year-old Milicic turned to kickboxing, and he made his debut in his home country versus Radovan Radojčin. In the video above you can see highlights of the fight, including the unfortunate ending (about 1:50 in) where the fight is called off after a gash opened up on Darko's left leg, resulting in a TKO loss for Milicic.
