Is it already that time again? Invicta's new partnership and accelerated schedule have our collected heads spinning, as what was once a quarterly occasion has suddenly become a monthly one. Invicta FC is back and with, what looks to be, a fairly solid card, even after some heavy working over. Michelle Waterson is making a quick return to the cage, after the loss of Cris Cyborg from her bantamweight debut. Waterson will be taking on young Brazilian contender Herica Tiburcio in what at least promises to be a more competitive match than Waterson vs. Tamada.
The co-main event features the return of Tonya Evinger, on the heels of a shocking first round submission win over Ediane Gomes at Invicta FC 8, and the rest of the card is dotted with notable names and potentially exciting scraps. Unfortunately an anticipated bout between hot prospect Irene Aldana and Marion Reneau was scrapped at the last minute, due to a serious case of bronchitis that saw Aldana hospitalized on Monday. There are no odds out as of yet (at least not that I could find), so this is more of a picks and matchups breakdown rather than a "smart bets" guide.
Invicta FC 10 is set to take place this Friday, December 5th in Houston, Texas, and will be streamed live via Fight Pass. Here's a look at the card as it stands:
Michelle Waterson vs. Herica Tiburcio
Tonya Evinger vs. Cindy Dandois
Roxanne Modafferi vs. Andrea Lee
DeAnna Bennett vs. Jennifer Maia
Charmaine Tweet vs. Faith Van Duin
Peggy Morgan vs. Andria Wawro
Alexa Grasso vs. Alida Gray
Jinh Yu Frey vs. Cassie Robb
Rachael Ostovich vs. Evva Johnson
