Saturday night brought with it an entertaining slew of fights emanating from Phoenix, Arizona. The card saw a variety of knockouts, submissions, upsets and enthralling battles to send the crowd home satisfied.
Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic stole the show on Saturday night with their thrilling and brutal five round affair in the main event. It was a back-and-forth encounter that saw both fighters dish ferocious blows for 25 minutes until the judges deemed the former champion the victor. However, Stipe Miocic proved that he belongs in the upper echelon of the heavyweight division.
Matt Mitrione crushed Gabriel Gonzaga with an opening round TKO victory to secure his third consecutive stoppage win under the UFC banner. It was an impressive, albeit vicious, performance that will undoubtedly move the heavyweight into bigger fights in 2015.
After an unfortunate start to his UFC run, Ian Entwistle made quick work of his in the curtain jerker fight of the evening to move to 9-2 in his professional career. He ended the fight with a well-timed heel hook, where he continuously readjusted the submission until he was able to lock on the final touches.
