MMA Vivisection - WSOF 16: Palhares vs. Fitch

New, comments

Zane Simon and Victor Rodriguez are back to break down this week's World Series of Fighting Event.

We're back and badder than ever... or is it worse than ever? Either way we're back. This week we're talking about World Series of Fighting 16, featuring a pair of strong title bouts and a bunch of fun, young prospects. Atop the card will be a 170lb championship fight between UFC veterans Jon Fitch and Rousimar Palhares. Immediately preceding them, a scrap for the 145lb title contested between champion Rick Glenn (fighting out of Roufusport) and challenger Lance Palmer (fighting out of Team Alpha Male). Essentially a battle of high level vets and a battle of high level prospects, exactly what you'd hope for on a strong card outside the UFC.

Rounding out the show are a bunch of promising young fighters. The WSOF has taken a page from the classic Bellator/Elite XC book, and basically brought in an entire local promotion to serve as their undercard talent. WSOF 16 is knee deep in fighters from West Coast FC, and many of them look really promising.

Here's a look at the complete card, and since I forgot to post odds, I've added the available lines as well (via Best Fight Odds):

NBCSports Card:
Rousimar Palhares (-130) vs. Jon Fitch (+110)
Rick Glenn (+100/-135) vs. Lance Palmer (-120/+101)

Brenson Hansen (+101/-105) vs. Josh Berkovic (-115)
Lewis Gonzalez (-130) vs. Justin Buchholz (+110)

Streaming Card:
Dave Huckaba vs. JR Lugo
