It's been nearly 3 years since Alistair Overeem's UFC debut, which would ultimately double as Brock Lesnar's final fight of his MMA career. While it must be said that Overeem's UFC career has been rightfully labelled a "bust", his showing vs. Lesnar at UFC 141 in Las Vegas, Nevada was enough to earn him a title shot vs. Junior dos Santos. As it turned out, Overeem's failed drug test and subsequent loss to Antonio Silva shot all of that to pieces, and now he's fighting Stefan Struve on this Saturday's UFC on Fox 13 card in Phoenix, possibly to determine whether or not he stays in the promotion.
You can take a trip down memory lane with the full fight video of Overeem's demolishing of Lesnar. It was a dominant display of brutal knees ad kicks to the body, and the fight was called off after Overeem decided to abandon punching Lesnar's face and going straight for the liver. Can Overeem salvage his career by doing something similar to Struve? We'll find out soon enough.
