John Lineker vs. Ian McCall re-booked for UFC 183

New, comments

Scrapped at the last minute earlier this month, flyweight contenders John Lineker and Ian McCall have been re-booked for UFC 183 in Las Vegas.

Fans of flyweights John Lineker and Ian McCall were left deeply disappointed when an infection forced McCall out of their UFC Fight Night clash in Uberlandia, Brazil on November 8th. But fear not, as Sean Shelby has re-made this bout for UFC 183 in Las Vegas in January 2015:

Lineker (24-7) has won 5 of his last 6, although his one defeat came against recent title challenger Ali Bagautinov. The biggest issue for the hard-hitting Lineker has been the ability to make weight. He has never weighed in lighter than 126 lbs, which becomes a problem when that 1 lb allowance is removed for title fights.

McCall (13-4-1) has won his last 2 fights over Iliarde Santos and Brad Pickett after starting his UFC career 0-2-1. The former Tachi Palace Fights champion also holds wins (outside of the UFC) over Dustin Ortiz, Darrell Montague, and Jussier Formiga.

UFC 183 is headlined by a middleweight non-title fight between former champion Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz. Welterweights Kelvin Gastelum and Tyron Woodley take part in the co-main event.
