On Saturday night, the UFC returned to Texas, where they produced one of the more entertaining fight cards in recent memory - one stacked with promising prospects and enthralling match-ups. The event also culminated with an exceptional main event that sent the Austin crowd home satisfied.
Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar thoroughly outclassed Cub Swanson in their main event match-up on Saturday night. Following a close, competitive opening round of action, Edgar took control of the fight and dominated the entire affair until he finished the fight with four seconds left in the final round for the latest finish in UFC history.
Oleksiy Oliynyk picked up the biggest win of his career when he knocked out heavyweight talent Jared Rosholt on one of the feature fights on the main card. After weathering an early storm that saw him nearly lose the fight on two separate occasions, Oliynyk landed a fight-ending blow just over three minutes into the opening round to secure the most vicious stoppage of the night.
Paige VanZant made her official debut in one of the most entertaining fights on the Austin card, as she dazzled the crowd in attendance with her exceptional aggression and urgency to seek out the finish. After an impressive display over the span of 12 minutes, VanZant reaped the rewards of her efforts and finished Kailin Curran via TKO.
