Melvin Guillard misses weight by nearly 4 pounds prior to WSOF title fight vs. Justin Gaethje

For the 2nd time in as many WSOF appearances and the 3rd time since 2012, Melvin Guillard has failed to make weight.

Melvin Guillard has all but sabotaged World Series of Fighting's plans for a tripleheader of title fights tomorrow night in Tampa, Florida. Guillard, who missed weight in his WSOF debut against Gesias Cavalcante, managed to come in at an astonishing 158.8 lbs for his lightweight championship bout against undefeated standout Justin Gaethje. Because it's a title fight, the one-pound allowance is not granted so Guillard has two hours to cut about 4 lbs or else he'll be fined by the Florida commission and the title fight will likely be reduced to a three-round non-title affair.

Unless this is some terrific trolling by Guillard, he's probably not shedding those 3.8 lbs over the next 2 hours. If he fails to do so it will be the 3rd time since 2012 that he's missed weight, and basically puts him in a position where WSOF can boot him from the organization with any sort of loss to Gaethje.

Yesterday, Guillard and company VP Ali Abdel-Aziz had a bit of a confrontation on the WSOF 15 conference call, with the ex-UFC fighter arguing that he's an "A-list fighter fighting in the B-league". Abdel-Aziz objected to that putdown of Gaethje and WSOF, insisting that Guillard is in the A-League and making A-level money.

We'll update you ASAP on Guillard's latest weight-cutting disaster and how it will affect tomorrow night's co-main event.
