Mark Eddiva was set to face Mike De La Torre at UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Rockhold in Sydney next month, but the Filipino star has now dropped off the card due to lingering injuries. According to a report from MMA-in-Asia.com, the Team Lakay product suffered injuries to his elbow and his throat during training camp, and has been forced to withdraw from the contest.

No replacement has been officially announced as of this writing, but the event is still over 4 weeks out leaving matchmakers plenty of time to find a new opponent for De La Torre.

After going undefeated in the Asian MMA circuit, the decorated Wushu specialist signed with the UFC early this year and is currently 1-1 in the UFC. He has a dominant win over Jumabieke Tuerxun last March, and a spirited loss to Edmilson Souza which netted him a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus.

Eddiva is targeting a return in early 2015.
