Though the US has not seen a major player in the Heavyweight scene in years (or, perhaps, because of that), Heavyweight fights retain a different aura about them. Here, you have your classic Heavyweight clash of two big, powerful punchers on the hunt for the KO. What makes this interesting is that both men have also been heavily hyped at times, but both are currently in need of a strong outing.
Arreola is coming off an upset loss to Bermane Stiverne, while Mitchell is coming off the 1-1 series with Johnathon Banks. His last fight was a decision win over Banks, but it was clearly a bad, dull fight. The Banks series considerably dulled Mitchell's rising star and now, like Arreola, he needs not just a win, but a big, emphatic win. That could be a recipe for a great clash, though it could also lead to a dull, tentative outing from each man. We'll have to see.

Opening the broadcast is Rafael Marquez vs. Efrain Esquivas. Marquez is the veteran here, trying to hold back the challenge of the less experienced Esquivas. The 38 year old Marquez has had a tough time in recent years and is currently on a 4-5 run in the past 6 years. Esquivas was an undefeated prospect just 1 year ago, but is 0-2-1 since. As in the main event, both need a win badly tonight.
