UFC Fight Night 28 results: Jacare Souza knocks out Yushin Okami in round one

In the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 28, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza made a huge statement by knocking out Yushin Okami in the first round.

Ronaldo Souza just made a huge statement in the UFC's middleweight division. The former Strikeforce champ totally dominated top opponent Yushin Okami in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 28, dropping him twice with punches and finishing him off with ground strikes in the first round. The finish came just at just 2:47 of the opening stanza.

Jacare got off to a huge start, landing a big right and firing away on a hurt Okami against the cage. Okami never went down though, and recovered quickly.  He came back looking for that right hand again, and just missed with two. And then he didn't. Another right sent Okami to the mat hard and he casually leaned on him against the cage, holding his arm, and teed off until the referee stopped the fight.

Jacare moves to 2-0 in the UFC with the win, both coming via stoppage. Okami's three-fight win streak was brought to an end with the loss. Jacare stated after the bout that he hurt his knee when he kicked Okami, and that's why he couldn't do his patented crocodile/alligator/caiman/whatever dance after the win.
