Michael Bisping out four to six months following eye surgery

When Michael Bisping first dealt with a detached following his UFC 159, he had to be hoping that he would be able to return to action with minimal rehab time. Instead, the injury forced him out of his upcoming bout with Mark Munoz and resulted in a surgery that would result in possibly up to a year out of competition.

Bleacher Report spoke to Bisping's management who said that it's going to be 4-6 months before he's back in action:

According to Bisping's management team at Paradigm Sports Management, who spoke to Bleacher Report on Friday evening, the British fighter already had the necessary corrective eye surgery on Thursday and will now begin his rest and rehabilitation.

Bisping is expected to have no contact whatsoever on the eye for the approximately the next three months, and then they hope he can return to full sparring and a fight in four to six months.

The landscape of the sport changes very quickly, so being out until possibly March or April of 2014 sets Bisping back more than ever before from the title shot that always seems just out of reach.
