A featherweight slugfest that had been scheduled for an October card has been pushed back a month. TUF Brazil winner Rony Jason and UFC vet Jeremy Stephens will now meet in November, but it will still be in Brazil. MMA Fighting has the news:
UFC announced Wednesday the featherweight bout between Jason and Stephens, originally expected to take place at UFC Fight Night 29 in Barueri, Brazil, will be part of the UFN 32 card in Goiania, Brazil, on Nov. 9.
Jason (13-3) is undefeated in three UFC bouts thus far, most recently submitting Mike Wilkinson in the first round of their UFC on Fuel 10 bout. He is on an eight-fight winning streak overall.
Stephens (21-9) had a long run at lightweight in the UFC, but dropped to 145 pounds after a recent three-fight losing streak. He picked up a decision win over Estavan Payan in his featherweight debut at UFC 160 in May.
The bout is expected to take place on the preliminary card of the November 9th event in Goiania. The card will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Dan Henderson.
