Renan Barao vs. Eddie Wineland -- Interim Bantamweight Championship bout

Nova Uniao rep Renan Barao has not lost since his first night of professional MMA back in 2005. Since then he's accrued an unparalleled 31-fight win streak and prestigious body count, and wrestle-boxer Eddie Wineland was his latest victim. Wineland was game in the first frame and traded shots with Barao on the feet, both trying to offset their striking attacks with takedowns but to no avail. Early in the second stanza, Barao twirled into a spinning back kick that clipped Wineland's jaw and crumpled him to the canvas. Barao started to pounce with punches but the referee interrupted him to wave the fight off. Barao will now look to settle up with Dominick Cruz, who's been on the shelf for almost two years now.
