UFC champ Jon Jones wants to box a Klitschko

UFC Light Heavyweight champ Jon Jones claims his boxing is developing so fast that he wants to box one of the Klitschko brothers.

We know that Jon Jones isn't impressed with his next opponent. Alexander Gustafsson is getting his big shot against Jones at UFC 165 but almost no one thinks the lanky Swede can beat Jones, including Jones. Jones ripped his foe on last week's UFC 165 media conference call.

"I don't really agree with any of the comparisons. I think the only thing me and Gustafsson have in common is that we're both 26 years old and the fact that we're both over 6-foot-4 tall. Outside of that, we are completely different fighters. I've been able to study him a lot over the last several months, and I realized there's absolutely nothing he does that's like me. We're just completely different. We have the same height and age, and that's absolutely it."

The two challengers on the horizon, Daniel Cormier and Glover Teixeira also fail to impress Jones.

So where is Jones looking? Who does he fantasize about going up against?

The LA Times' Lance Pugmire has the scoop:

Jones elaborated at the same media luncheon as captured by Fox 11:

"The thought of boxing has become way more real to me," Jones said during an interview with Fox 11's James Koh.

"One of the Klitschko brothers," Jones said regarding a possible opponent. "It's been something I've really, really been thinking about and maybe we can entertain that in the future."

The Klitschkos, of course, are Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko, the two kings of boxing's Heavyweight division. The 37-year-old 6 foot 6 inch Wladimir (60-3) is the IBF, IBO, WBO & WBA and Ring Magazine Heavyweight champ. The 42-year-old, 6 foot 7 inch Vitali (45-2) is the WBC Heavyweight champ. Neither brother has lost in almost a decade.

Is Jones just talking crazy or is he becoming dangerously over-confident?
