Jose Aldo thinks Chad Mendes hasn't done enough for a rematch, wants Lamas or Swanson

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has already defeated Chad Mendes once, and doesn't believe that his recent winning streak is enough to warrant a rematch.

USA TODAY Sports

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo is like any other champion - he doesn't seem very fond of rematches against guys he has already beaten. The champ recently spoke to Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting about the state of the division, and he made it pretty clear who he doesn't want to fight next - former challenger Chad Mendes:

"Chad Mendes is still starting, haven’t fought anyone ranked yet, only fought guys that are not that good," he said. "He’s coming off good wins, but he hasn’t beaten good guys. So I believe the next two should be Ricardo Lamas and Cub Swanson."

He also said that if the UFC makes Lamas and Swanson rematch (Lamas submitted Cub in late 2011) to see who faces him, that'd be okay with him as well. Aldo is coming off a TKO victory over Chan Sung Jung at UFC 163, which brought his UFC record to 5-0 (all title defenses).
