Earlier today, we passed along some tweets from Bellator welterweight War Machine that were a tad controversial to say the least. The fighter made a couple of references to rape, saying that he had 'raped' girlfriend Christy Mack before she went out to run errands, then followed it up with a tweet that said "Real men rape. ( Their GF's and wives, not strangers, don't get your panties in a bunch." Well, something made the ever-aggressive former Jon Koppenhaver change his mind, and he took to twitter to apologize a few minutes ago:
I tweeted something earlier that was stupid, insensitive and wrong. Rape is never something to joke about ever. I sincerely apologize.

One has to wonder if he was pressured by someone, namely Mack or Bellator, to make the apology since it goes against how he usually acts. But an apology is an apology, and and whether you take him at his word or not is up to you.
War Machine returns to the cage at Bellator 100, where he'll meet Vaughn Anderson in the first round of Bellator's season nine welterweight tournament.
