I'm back after an embarrassing UFC 161. About all I did right was pick Jake Shields. All my 2-1 favorites lost, and I'm down even more. It's a conspiracy. CONSPIRACY I SAY. I'm down nine units this year. This is ridiculous. Anyway, let's try to turn it around with a good second half of the year. Here are the current betting lines for UFC 162:

Well, I'm going to start with the main event. While I think Chris Weidman presents a pretty big threat to the champ, I just can't turn down betting on Anderson Silva around -225. I just can't. If you played it right you could have had Anderson in this range against Vitor Belfort, but other than that he hasn't been this low since he fought Dan Henderson five years ago. I don't see any reason to pass it up.

I will be making two other main card bets as well. I like Roger Gracie around +130 to beat Tim Kennedy, and I think Dennis Siver is really underrated against Cub Swanson and +195 is a great bet. I'd consider a bet on Tim Boetsch as well, but that fight is really hard to pick with all the different variables (injuries, layoffs), so I'll pass on it.

On the undercard, I honestly don't see much value at all. So I won't be betting on it. Actually, I changed my mind. I'll put something on Seth Baczynski at -270 because he seems like a lock to me.

Recommended plays

2.5 units on Silva at -224
.5 unit on Gracie at +135
1 unit on Siver at +195
1.5 units on Baczynski at -270
