Melvin Guillard looked great tonight against former Ultimate Fighter winner Mac Danzig, finishing the TUF guy at 2:47 of round 2 of their UFC on Fox 8 preliminary card bout in Seattle, Washington. Here's how Chris Hall described the action:
Facing off against one of the hardest punchers in the division, Danzig was obviously hesitant to get inside boxing range against Guillard. He stayed on the outside trying to move in and clinch up for the takedown and he paid for it in the first round. He didn't succeed on any of his takedown attempts and barely landed any strikes.
Danzig continued trying to walk Guillard back into the fence in the second round. "The Young Assassin" stayed patient and finally landed the big blow he'd been looking for. He caught and dropped Danzig with a left and followed up with violent ground strikes to get the stoppage.
