UFC Hall-of-Famer Randy Couture was a star at the Expendables, and now the production crew behind the action movie franchise have enlisted 2 more fighters for their next installment. According to Sylvester Stallone, UFC women's bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey will star at Expendables 3 along with former boxing champion Victor Ortiz. Stallone first teased the news a few days ago on his twitter:
Who is the newest , maybe toughest female on the plant?

MMA fans of course would recognize that these initials represent the 2 women who have become faces of the sport in Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano. The already had success on the silver screen with films such as Haywire and Fast and the Furious 6, and late last night, Stallone made the official announcement on Rousey's debut:
Ronda Rousey will show championship form in Expendables 3! So will multi hampion Victor Ortiz!

This would be Rousey's first entry on a huge Hollywood film, and with the charismatic UFC champ always garnering mainstream appeal, could she eventually follow in the footsteps of the former face of Women's MMA when her career winds down? It's obviously premature to ask that now, and while it would definitely be a good opportunity if she can adapt to it, let's hope the 26-year-old sticks to fighting while she's still approaching her prime.
Rousey's next bout will be a title defense against her rival in Miesha Tate at UFC 168 in what promises to be the biggest MMA event of the year.
