MMA in Japan is still something of a void. After the fall of Pride, the demise of Dream, and the shattering of Sengoku a gap has been left for Japanese fighters looking to take their skill to the next level. One FC has stepped up in Singapore, but there's still room for growth. Throwing it's hat into the ring is Vale Tudo Japan. Initially a promotional stepping stone for Rickson Gracie in the early 90's VTJ has returned to bring together Japan's best talent from it's oldest promotions.
VTJ 2nd featured Shooto Bantamweight champion Kyoji Horoguchi facing off against Pancrase bantamweight champion Shintaro Ishiwatari, Shooto Strawweight champion Mikihito Yamagami against former KOTC Flyweight champion Mamoru Yamaguchi, and UFC vet Caol Uno.
