It was obvious right from the start that Rosi Sexton has the heart of a lion. She engaged Davis fearlessly and slipped in a few blows early, but Davis was stepping into her short, snapping punches and throwing with more power. After taking a few short shots to the body while trying to work the Thai plum, Davis countered Sexton's takedown attempt and nearly scrambled to her back, but settled for a locked triangle from her guard instead. Sexton stayed calm in fighting off what initially looked to be a tight choke, but eventually loosened enough for the feisty Sexton to free herself and shower down ground and pound.

Davis made headway in the 2nd with a rear-naked choke attempt and a flurry of strikes that had the referee giving things a close look, and the final frame was a back-and-forth chess match with technical grappling on display from both women, who were all hugs and smiles afterward.
