Strikeforce crossover Shawn "The Savage" Jordan was just that against fan favorite Pat Barry. "HD" was assumed to have a hefty edge on the feet but it was Jordan who waded forward and uncurled an alternating series of straight left/uppercut combinations that rocked Barry in the dawning moments of the frame. Barry went down and covered up while Jordan kept peppering him with short hammer-fists, persuading the referee to step in and wave it off.
With the upset, Jordan, a former Division 1 fullback at Louisiana State University, moves to 15-4 overall and 3-1 in the Octagon. He is coming off a submission win over UFC heavyweight Lavar Johnson in his last Strikeforce fight.
