Dan Hardy not cleared to fight against Matt Brown, replaced by Jordan Mein at UFC on Fox 7

A heart condition has forced Dan Hardy off the UFC on Fox 7 card. Replacing him against Matt Brown is Jordan Mein, who is just coming off a TKO stoppage of Dan Miller at UFC 158.

Some unfortunate news for British welterweight Dan Hardy. Originally scheduled to fight Matt Brown on April 20th, Hardy was not given clearance to fight by the California State Athletic Commission due to a heart condition, which he humorously explained on Twitter:

With Hardy out, the UFC wasted no time in finding a suitable replacement. Fresh off his win over Dan Miller, Jordan Mein now fights Matt Brown at UFC on Fox 7.

Mein is the 2nd fighter from UFC 158 called into late-notice action. Earlier in the week Darren Elkins stepped up to fight Chad Mendes after Clay Guida withdrew from the card.

The 23-year-old Canadian became the first man to finish Dan Miller. Matt Brown, who has won his last 4, has never been knocked out, so it would be some feat for Mein if he could pull off consecutive "first time" TKO victories.

This unexpected change means that the entire UFC on Fox 7 main card is "UFC vs. Strikeforce": Ben Henderson vs. Gilbert Melendez, Frank Mir vs. Daniel Cormier, Nate Diaz vs. Josh Thomson, and now Jordan Mein vs. Matt Brown.
