UFC 156 opened up this month's UFC events on February 4. The main event saw Featherweight champ Jose Aldo defended his title against former Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. Before that, Antonio Silva pulled off the upset of the night with a 3rd round knockout of Alistair Overeem.

Overeem's fighter's license was reinstated less than a month before the event because of a failed test for elevated testosterone prior to UFC 146. The Reem served a 9 month suspension. For UFC 156, he submitted to the standard urinalysis and an additional blood test. Both tests came back negative. MMA Junkie reported the details:

But with his blood test form his UFC 156 fight, his testosterone total level actually fell below the normal range of 250-1,100 nano grams per deciliter (ng/dL). Overeem's total testosterone came in at 179 from the test, which was administered the morning after the fight at 8:25 a.m. on Feb. 3.

All other levels within the blood test came back within the normal reference range.

All 22 fighters on the UFC 156 fight card were tested following the event and everyone passed. Overeem is scheduled to face former Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos at UFC 160 in May.
