Evan Dunham vs. Rafael dos Anjos set for UFC on FX 8

A lightweight clash between exciting talents Evan Dunham and Rafael dos Anjos has been added to UFC on FX 8 on May 18th in Brazil.

USA TODAY Sports

A very intriguing lightweight encounter is set for the UFC on FX 8 main card in Santa Catarina, Brazil, as Evan Dunham fights Brazil's own Rafael dos Anjos on May 18th. Ivan Raupp from Globo TV first broke the story.

Dunham (14-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) is coming off an entertaining split decision win over Gleison Tibau at UFC 156, giving him his 3rd victory in his last 4 fights. He openly asked for dos Anjos after a Bleacher Report writer stated (after the Tibau fight) that he would "probably get murdered by somebody like Rafael Dos Anjos or Khabib Nurmagomedov".

Dos Anjos (18-6 MMA, 7-4 UFC) lost to Tibau in 2011 by split decision, but has rattled off three straight victories since then. His last win was a dominant decision over Mark Bocek at UFC 154 in Montreal last November. Rafael holds notable wins over George Sotiropoulos, Anthony Njokuani, and Terry Etim.

Other confirmed fights on FX for May 18th are Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold in the main event, and Ronaldo Souza vs. Constantinos Philippou in the likely co-main event.
