Jimi Manuwa probably didn't expect to pick up his second UFC win this way, but he'll take it. During a competitive first round, Cyrille Diabate apparently hurt his calf or leg at some point. When the round ended, he had trouble making it to his corner. After a minute of icing it down, his corner relayed to the doctor and referee that he was not longer fit to continue.
Diabate pushed it against the cage early and landed some knees in the clinch, but Manuwa turned it into a takedown. Diabate tied him up well and got back to his feet though. Neither man was blitzing the other in the standup, but Manuwa was the more active guy with leg kicks and single strikes. Diabate was landing some nice knees inside. After a particularly brutal one, Manuwa took him down to finish out the round. But just like that, it was over.
Manuwa improved to 13-0 with the win, while Diabate dropped to 19-9-1.
