UFC on FX 8 set for May 18th in Brazil, Belfort vs. Rockhold to headline

We already knew that Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold were going to tangle in a main event in Brazil. Now we know the date and location. UFC on FX 8: Belfort vs. Rockhold will take place on May 18th in Jaragua do Sul, in the state of Santa Catarina. Tatame was first to report the date and location of Brazil's second UFC event of 2013. The card will take place in Arena Jaragua, which holds approximately 15,000 people.

The only fight confirmed for the event is the main event, which sees Belfort (22-10) meet the last Strikeforce middleweight champion in Rockhold (10-1). Belfort is coming off a big knockout win over Michael Bisping at UFC on FX 7 last month, while Rockhold last fought in July when he defeated Tim Kennedy.

The event goes down just one week before the UFC's annual Memorial Day pay per view in Las Vegas, which features a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Antonio Silva as the headliner.
