UFC president Dana White had already told the press about his intention to book a Middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Strikeforce MW champ Luke Rockhold. Yesterday White told the press in London that the event will be happening in Brazil in the second quarter of this year. Tatame.com broke the news.
Belfort is coming off a KO win over Michael Bisping at UFC on FX 7: Belfort vs. Bisping. Some controversy clouds that win as it was revealed he received a therapeutic use exemption (TUE) for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) prior to the bout.
The 28-year-old Rockhold reeled off 8 straight wins in his four year Strikeforce career, including victories over Ronaldo Souza, Tim Kennedy and UFC vet Keith Jardine. He last fought in July of this year. Injuries prevented him from defending his SF title at their final even in January.
