Nah-Shon Burrell vs. Yuri Villefort set for UFC 157, Court McGee vs. Josh Neer promoted to main card

Strikeforce welterweights Nah-Shon Burrell and Yuri Villefort will meet at UFC 157 on the Facebook prelims. With the addition of this prelim fight, Court McGee vs. Josh Neer has been bumped to the PPV main card.

The loss of Chad Mendes vs. Manny Gamburyan left UFC 157 "one fight short", so to speak. It looks like the UFC has fixed that problem by bumping one prelim fight up to the main card and booking Strikeforce welterweights Nah-Shon Burrell and Yuri Villefort for the Facebook portion of the preliminary card. Via MMA Junkie:

Strikeforce imports Nah-Shon Burrell (8-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and Yuri Villefort (6-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will meet later this month. UFC officials on Monday announced the new booking.

Burrell won his first 3 Strikeforce fights before recently losing by TKO to Chris Spang in May 2012. The 23-year-old has won 6 of his 8 pro fights by KO or TKO, but his two decision wins have both come under the Strikeforce banner.

Villefort was the #1 ranked welterweight in the 2010 Bloody Elbow Scouting Report. The 21-year-old did not fight at all in 2011, and when he debuted in Strikeforce in 2012 he suffered a split decision loss to Quinn Mulhern, the first defeat of his young career.

And contrary to yesterday's article stating Brendan Schaub vs. Lavar Johnson would move to the PPV main card, it is actually Court McGee vs. Josh Neer bumped up to the PPV slot. The UFC's official web page had Schaub/Johnson as a main card fight on Sunday, but it appears that this fight will stay on FX.
