Vale Tudo Japan 3 results & gifs: Megumi Fuji retires on a loss following eye injury

Zombie Prophet has all the gifs and we've got complete results for Vale Tudo Japan 3 featuring Megumi Fuji's retirement fight.

Megumi "Mega Megu" Fujii, the 39-year-old legend of women's MMA, fought her retirement bout this weekend. Fujii, who once put together a 6 year, 22 fight win streak, was attempting to avenge one of her few career losses against Jessica Aguilar but came up short when an eye poke forced a stoppage in the second round.

MMA Fighting has the details of the bout:

Fujii was poked in the right eye twice in the first round. The second eye poke proved to be serious, as the fight was stopped for a considerable amount of time before "Mega Megu" decided to continue fighting despite the noticeable injury.

With the condition of her eye seriously deteriorating and Aguilar dominating the fight, the cageside doctor decided to stop the fight between rounds two and three.

Sherdog has descriptions of the action in the other two Japan vs. USA bouts from the card:

In a bit of a come-from-behind win, Japanese veteran Caol Uno fought through some rough patches early on before submitting Team Alpha Male's Daniel Romero with a slick inverted triangle choke from side control.

...

As expected, Hideo Tokoro used his signature speed and aggression to put on an incredible back-and-forth spectacle with Will Campuzano in the evening's first of three "Japan vs. USA" matchups. The bout saw both men earn takedowns, knockdowns, back takes and come to close to locking up submissions on multiple occasions. After a razor-close three rounds, the judges scored in favor of Campuzano with two 29-28 scorecards, while one judge went 29-28 for Tokoro. The split decision ushered boos from the pro-Tokoro crowd, as the former janitor's own gym is only minutes from the venue.

Here are complete results from the bout. Gifs by Zombie Prophet.
