UFC Fight Night 30 results: Winners and Losers

Saturday, UFC Fight Night 30 went down in Manchester, England. In the show's main event, former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida had a successful Middleweight debut against Mark Munoz. The Filipino Wrecking Machine had nothing for The Dragon and fell to a headkick in the first round. Check out what the fights meant for those two and the other winners and losers of the night.

Winners:

Lyoto Machida - It shouldn't be a surprise that the main event had the most riding on this show. But Machida delivered with the UFC brass wanted to see. After a series of disappointing performances at Light Heavyweight, The Dragon kicked off his Middleweight career with a first round knock out. Now, as we saw with the UFC post-fight show, the promotion is already talking about him as a contender.

Melvin Guillard - The official books will show the fight ending in a No Contest but, Guillard won that fight. He punished Pearson from the opening bell and looked like "the old" Melvin. Having gone 2-4 in his last 6 fights, Guillard was in a do or die position. He looked good through the 2 minute fight, and now he's guaranteed another chance next spring.

Luke Barnatt - Craig was a 2-1 favorite going into this Middleweight bout, but Barnatt rose to occasion in front of the hometown crowd. He rocked Craig in the first and finished in the second. He got a huge pop from the home crowd and disposed of an up-and-coming prospect.

Jessica Andrade - Andrade made her UFC debut against a former contender in a fight most expected her to lose. Again in her second UFC fight, she was matched against a well known veteran, but this time she rose to the occasion. Throughout their 15 minute bout, Andrade completely dominated Sexton to the point where many fans were calling for Rosi's corner to throw in the towel. This win puts Andrade toward the top of a very thin women's Bantamweight roster where one or two more could men a title shot.

Cole Miller -  Last year, Miller dropped down to the Featherweight division. Prior to last night he'd 1-3 in the 145 lb division. A loss at Fight Night 30 would have probably ended his UFC career. Instead, Miller out worked Ogly with his BJJ background to take the unanimous decision.

Losers

Mark Munoz - Munoz suffered the most devastating loss of his career last year at UFC on Fuel TV 4 when he was knocked out by Chris Weidman in the second round of their fight. By Munoz own admission, he went into a depression before returning with a dominant performance over Tim Boetsch at UFC 162. A win over Machida would have given him a strong argument for contendership, but now he's back to the drawing board.

Alessio Sakara - Sakara has been a UFC fighter longer than Anderson Silva. He's never been a contender bout found a niche as a game opponent ready to trade blows with anyone. But, his performance against Nicholas Musoke, Sakara can no longer hang with even the lower tier of the UFC. He's now lost four in a row and he should and probably will get a pink slip now.

Michael Kuiper - His fight with Brad Scott had all the appearances of a "Loser Leaves Town" match from the beginning and the result didn't do enough for Kuiper to hold his roster slot. He was finished in the first round and most likely lost his spot on the UFC roster.

Rosi Sexton - Sexton came in as one of the more recognizable names in WMMA. But, once the fighting started it was all Andrade. Jessica blitzed Rosi with an early flurry and never let up. Throughout the second round Andrade was beating Sexton to the point commentator Joe Rogan was pleading for a corner stoppage. the stoppage never came and Sexton saw the final bell without delivering any more significant offense. Sexton never looked like she could compete at Andrade's level and in a thin division there's not a lot of room for her to drop.
