UFC Fight Night 30 results: Lyoto Machida headkick KO's Mark Munoz at 3:10 of round 1

The Dragon made a statement with his divisional debut. It took him only a short 3 minutes to dispatch of former training partner Mark Munoz for a first round knockout.

In the main event of UFC Fight Night 30 out of Manchester, England former Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (19-4) made his Middleweight debut against the #5 in the division Mark Munoz (13-3). Machida made a statement with his first fight at 185 with a headkick KO in the first round.

The fight started as most would have expected. Munoz paced forward looking for an opportunity to close distance to force the ground fight he needed to win. Machida used his footwork to stay on the outside. it didn't take long for Machida to start establishing his kick game. Whenever he could he let out a quick, snapping left body kick to Munoz. The body shots paid off when Machida went high and sent the headkick through Munoz's guard to get the knockout win.
