Welterweights T.J. Waldburger (16-7, 4-2 UFC) and Adlan Amagov (12-2-1, 1-0 UFC) closed out the Facebook portion of UFC 166. The Chechen came out violently in his second UFC bout. In only four minutes he put T.J. out with punches from the clinch in a flawless victory.
This one started slower than the three previous preliminary bouts. Both fighters worked from range to set up their strikes. Amagov landed a spinning back kick to the body before Waldburger went in for a single. Amagov defended well and punished T.J. for the attempt. Amagov landed a pair of big punches in the clinch that put T.J. down and forced the referee to stop the fight. Waldburger had to be carried from the cage on a stretcher.
Adlan Amagov knocked out T.J. Waldburger at 3:45 of round 1.
Following the fight, Kevin Iole reported on twitter that Waldburger looked to be recovering well:
Good news that Waldburger is alert and speaking lucidly. Very good sign
