A common practice for HBO and Showtime boxing PPVs is to re-air the main event (and occasionally co-main event) on the main HBO and Showtime networks the following week. The UFC occasionally re-broadcasts older PPVs (dating back to Spike TV), but that's generally a few months, if not longer, than the original event date. With UFC 166 just a couple of days away, Fox Sports 1 is giving fans a chance to view the UFC 165 main card in its entirety this Thursday night at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. Normally the Thursday night slot for Fox Sports 1 is reserved for college football, but tomorrow it will play host to a special edition of UFC Reloaded. Here's their official press release:
The night's action will be aired on free television for the first time on Thursday's episode of UFC Reloaded. The three-hour FOX Sports 1 show will air the entire UFC 165 main card at 8/5p ET/PT.
UFC 165 featured a memorable light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson, which saw five rounds of non-stop action and high drama en route to a close decision win for Jones. Renan Barao also became the first man to KO or TKO Eddie Wineland after he dropped him with a spinning back kick and finished him with ground strikes.
This card was not quite one month ago, so this is about as quickly as they've ever put a UFC PPV onto "free TV". It was definitely a fun show to watch and the main event was a definite classic. So pencil in tomorrow evening as your chance to relive all of the main card bouts from Toronto, Canada.
