As expected, Josh Barnett made quick work of an overmatched opponent at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine tonight. Nandor Guelmino managed to stop a takedown or two, but that was about it. Once it went to the floor the second time, an arm-triangle choke finished Guelmino's night at 2:11 of the opening round.
Barnett shot in immediately and got a takedown. Guelmino held onto a guillotine for a bit but let it go. Barnett dropped for a leg lock but couldn't get anything and Guelmino got up. Eventually they went back to the ground again, and Barnett ended up directly in mount. Barnett locked up an arm-triangle, and it was over.
After the bout, Barnett pulled off a typical pro wrestling interview, but stated that he wasn't sure if he was going to be headed over to the UFC or not. He said that he was plagued by viruses during his camp and wasn't able to train well, but he got the job done nonetheless.
