Dana White thinks it would be 'awesome' to hold Michael Bisping vs Anderson Silva in the UK

Dana White likes the idea of Michael Bisping vs. Anderson Silva in the UK, but it may not make sense because of time zone differences.

One of the usual knocks against the UFC's trips to the UK is that the promotion tends to not provide marquee fights for the fans. Yesterday's UFC on FUEL TV 5 card brought some solid action, but a main event of heavyweights somewhere in the #11-20 range isn't exactly on par with what other major areas of marketting focus get in their 1-2 UFC trips per year.

So it wasn't surprising, as Michael Bisping recently picked up a win over Brian Stann, to see UFC president Dana asked about a potential Bisping title shot at Anderson Silva. And, more interestingly, if he'd put on that title fight in the UK.

Here's what Dana had to say at the post-fight presser:

"It would be awesome to bring Bisping over here if Bisping gets a shot at the title. We'll see what happens. I know you guys want it. Anything is possible, it absolutely could happen."

Giving the area's biggest star a shot at the promotion's best fighter would be a hell of a make-up for some of the lackluster main events they've been given in the past.

And, as I've said many times before, the UFC eventually needs to cash in on Bisping. They've put a lot of time and effort into marketing him and he's on a nice run to the point where getting a title shot really isn't out of the question. Even his recent loss to Chael Sonnen was seen as a fight he won by many people (myself and Dana included).

I don't know that it'll actually happen because of the time difference and it's impact on PPV buys, but it's interesting.
