UFC 152 Results: Michael Bisping Takes Decision Over Brian Stann

Michael Bisping used an accurate jab and some timely takedowns to pick up a unanimous decision victory over Brian Stann in their UFC 152 middleweight bout. Stann cracked him with a right late in the first and had Bisping hurt, but he was able to hold on until the end of the round. Bisping took over in the final two rounds though, mixing up his striking and wrestling to keep Stann off balance. All three judges gave the bout to Bisping with 29-28 scores.

Stann threw a couple of bombs early, but missed with both. He then clinched up with Bisping against the cage. After separating, they felt each other out for a while in the middle of the cage. Stann landed a nice right up the middle. Bisping shot in for a takedown but Stann fought it off nicely. Bisping landed a big standing elbow against the cage. They exchanged in the pocket a bit, with neither getting an advantage. Both landed kicks low within a minute of each other. Stann landed some nice kicks to the legs and body. Bisping shot in for another takedown but got stuffed and ate a big right that stunned Bisping late. He was able to clinch up and ride out the round.

Bisping started the second round well, landing his jab a few times and finally getting a slam takedown. Stann dumped him right off though, and landed a big right on top. Bisping apparently landed a thumb to the eye on the ground and it allowed Bisping to get up. Stann got back to kicking while Bisping went back to the jabs and straight lefts. Bisping got another slam takedown with 30 seconds to go. He rode out the round on top.

Bisping used a Stann legkick attempt to get a takedown early in the final round, but Stann popped right up. Bisping's jab opened up a small cut on Stann's face. Bisping had a takedown stuffed but landed some shots in the clinch. Stann fought off another takedown attempt, but couldn't get anything going while the fighters were clinched against the cage. Bisping caught a body kick and landed a combo. Stann finally connected with the right, and stuffed another takedown attempt. Finally Bisping got it to the ground with 30 seconds to go. Stann got up quickly and landed some punches to close out the fight.
