Asian MMA: Zorobabel Moreira Vs. Kotetsu Boku For Inaugural Lightweight Title At ONE FC 6

New, comments

After Ole Laursen and ONE FC officials were unable to sort out the issues preventing a shot at the title, Zorobabel Moreira finally has a new opponent when he tries to claim the inaugural ONE FC lightweight championship on October 6. On Monday, the promotion announced that he will be facing former Shooto Pacific Rim Champion, Kotetsu Boku at ONE FC 6, and will be one of three title fights that night.

One of the top fighters training out of the famed Evolve MMA camp, Zoro has been ranked as one of the best prospects in the world early in 2012. Since then, the 6'3 lightweight has gone on a tear, dominating Felipe Enomoto and Roger Huerta (with that brutal soccer kick KO) to extend his win streak and state his case as one of the top fighters in the region.

Kotetsu on the other hand, is a Japanese-Korean fighter who has career wins over Eiji Mitsuoka and Hermes Franca and has an overall record of 19-7. He's a former Shooto champ and is part of the stacked Krazy Bee team, which is also home to top Japanese fighters such as Norifumi Yamamoto, Kyoji Horiguchi, and Issei Tamura.

URCC Champion and fellow ONE FC star, Eduard Folayang is currently scheduled to compete at URCC 22 this November, and if he comes out victorious on that bout, he is still expected to get the next title shot against the winner of Zoro vs. Boku.

Apart from this lightweight title fight, ONE FC 6 will also host championship bouts for Bantamweight and Featherweight, along with a Bantamweight Grand Prix and a super-fight between Shinya Aoki and Arnaud Lepont.
