Lyoto Machida defeated Ryan Bader by knockout (punch) at 1:32 of round two
Well, Lyoto Machida made his case for a UFC light heavyweight title shot. After a solid first round where he successfully evaded everything Ryan Bader threw at him, Machida caught an incoming Bader with a brutal right that put Bader flat on the mat, out cold.
Machida, as expected, established his distance well early. Bader got inside once but couldn't get anything going. Machida landed a nice knee to the body as Bader waded in. Machida was throwing a bunch of front kicks, and caught Bader coming in with a nice right. Bader couldn't connect on much of anything over the first five minutes.
The second looked like the first for 90 seconds or so, until doom struck for Bader. He tried to charge forward and caught a picture perfect right that landed dead on the chin. Bader collapsed to the mat like a sack of poopy and John McCarthy ran in to stop Machida from inflicting any other damage.
