UFC on Fox 5 has been getting a lot of attention lately, as it already has had three big fights announced. While this fight may not be quite as big, it provides an interesting competition between two high level grapplers. The Inside TUF twitter account today announced that Joe Proctor has agreed to fight Ramsey Nijem at the event. Here's the tweet:
Veloci-Proctor news!

Proctor is largely a submission fighter, much like one of his training partners, Joe Lauzon. In his stint on The Ultimate Fighter Live, he made it up to the quarter finals, first beating the house prankster, Chris Tickle, but then losing to James Vick in his next fight. On the finale, Vick got a fight with fellow castmate, Jeremy Larsen, and won that fight with a brutally fast TKO after landing a solid knee on Larsen's chin. He will be looking to make it two wins in a row against Nijem.
Ramsey Nijem, much like Proctor, seems to largely prefer the grappling game. Nijem is also a TUF alum, having been a finalist in season 13. On the show, Nijem finished all three of his opponents, two of these finishes coming by way of rear naked choke. This set him up for a bout in the finals with the hard hitting Tony Ferguson, in a fight that saw Ramsey succumb to punches late into the first round. Since his disappointing loss in the finals, he has dropped back down to lightweight, notching two wins over Danny Downes and C.J. Keith respectively. A win for Nijem here could mean a bump into some higher tier fights at lightweight.
UFC on Fox 5 takes place on December 8th at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington and features a lightweight championship fight between Ben Henderson and Nate Diaz.
