Black House manager Ed Soares is moving into the fight promotion business again. Resurrection Fight Alliance, a Midwest promotion with a solid roster, has hired Anderson Silva's translator to be the president of their organization. MMA Fighting has the news:
Soares, who manages the likes of Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida and the Nogueira brothers, will continue to manage his stable of fighters, along with his partner Jorge Guimaraes.
"We still have a management business," Soares said. "This announcement has no bearing on anything.
"I'm not relieving any of my responsibilities as a manager, I'm just taking on a little more responsibility elsewhere."
Soares said that he's been a promoter before, so this is nothing new for him. RFA is working on a TV deal, and their next event will take place in October in Nevada. Their roster includes top prospects Sergio Pettis and Bubba Jenkins, along with UFC veterans like Joe Stevenson and Tyson Griffin.
RFA isn't very big yet so I doubt Dana White will care, but he's historically never been a big fan of the people around his organization going into the promotion business. Remember Tom Atencio and Affliction?
