In the opening bout of FX Prelims broadcast, Chico Camus survived the dangerous guard of Dustin Pague in route to a unanimous decision victory. Camus picked up the first win of his UFC career and improved his record to 12-3. For Pague, however, this was a very big loss, being his third in four fights since coming out of The Ultimate Fighter 14 house.

Things looked good early for the TUF veteran. Only two minutes into the fight, Pague looked to have locked on a triangle after Camus took him down. He held the triangle position for a couple minutes but was never able to finish the submission. Chico recovered well, controlling most of the rest of the fight from top position to get the win on points.

What was the high point of the fight?

Chico Camus's rear naked choke attempt in the closing seconds of the final round. Although Camus was clearly winning on the scorecards by this point, he hadn't yet threatened to finish the bout. In the last minute, he gained back control and came close to submitting Pague.

Where do they go from here?

Getting his first UFC win has got to be the high point of Camus's career thus far. This victory gives him a 4 fight win streak that he'll look to continue as he moves through the Bantamweight division. He looked very solid last night, but not so good that he needs a huge jump in competition.

The future looks much bleaker for TUFer Dustin Pague. He's 1-3 since coming into the UFC at The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale, with his sole win coming o Jared Papazian. Unfortunately for Pague, his losses are neither the slobberknockers the UFC brass loves nor against the level of competition that could get him a pass. it seems most likely that Pague gets released from his UFC contract to go pick up some wins on a smaller stage.

Watch now, later, or never?

Never. It certainly wasn't the worst fight ever, but it was weak on action with little suspense.
