Former Pride and Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson might have come up short in his first two attempts to claim a UFC title, but will the third time be the charm? He meets Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 151, and he thinks he has what it takes. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting, he talked a bit about Jones' legal troubles and re-iterated the fact that he might be a bit fake:

"I think a lot of the fans are the ones that really see that and I'm just like everyone else. It seems to be that he's not the most genuine guy, and that (his DWI) didn't help his case."

Ariel asked him about his age and being in there against a young buck, and Hendo says it comes down to believing in himself

"I guess I'm not your average 40 year old. I'm looking forward to going out there and proving a lot of people wrong. I haven't really paid much attention to what everyone else is saying. I know what I'm capable of doing and I just gotta make sure I do it that night.

Hendo also said he hasn't watched much tape on Jones yet, but he knows what he needs to do:

I'm gonna make sure I put him on his back and we haven't seen him there. We'll see how that goes."

Can Hendo get Jones to the floor? I certainly wouldn't say it's impossible, but Henderson's MMA wrestling has always been a bit overrated. He's going to need more than the H-bomb though, so a takedown-heavy gameplan might just be a good idea. You can catch the whole interview after the jump.
