UFC 151 is slowly nearing completion with its 10th scheduled fight, as tenacious wrestler Charlie Brenneman welcomes TUF alumnus and long-time middleweight Kyle Noke to the welterweight division. MMA Weekly has the story:
A late addition has been made to the upcoming UFC 151 card with former Ultimate Fighter competitor Kyle Noke dropping to 170lbs to face Charlie Brenneman in Las Vegas.
Sources close to the fight confirmed the new bout to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday.
The Australian Noke is on a two-fight losing streak after winning 3 straight in the UFC. He was on the 11th season of The Ultimate Fighter before losing in the quarterfinals to Kris McCray. Noke has had experience fighting several notable UFC fighters in the early part of his career, including a draw against Hector Lombard, a win against Brian Ebersole, and splitting two fights with George Sotiropoulos. The 32-year-old is almost certainly in a must-win situation as he makes his welterweight debut.
A former high school Spanish teacher, Brenneman entered the UFC with an 11-1 record with his only loss coming to former UFC welterweight John Howard. He burst onto the national MMA scene with a stunning short-notice win over Rick Story in June 2011, but he has had mixed results since then, losing badly to Anthony Johnson, beating Daniel Roberts, and losing via submission for the first time in his career against Erick Silva.
This fight is scheduled for the evening's preliminary card.
