UFC Middleweight Chael Sonnen was a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience last night and the complete video is above. Sonnen will be challenging MW champ Anderson Silva at UFC 148 on July 7 in Las Vegas. Sonnen famously battered the champ for 4 and 1/2 rounds at UFC 117 before succumbing to a triangle choke in the fifth round of that bout.
An immediate rematch was planned but Sonnen was popped for an elevated testosterone:epitestosterone ratio after that fight and then suspended by the California State Athletic Commission.
Sonnen spoke to Rogan about a number of topics including Big Foot/Sasquatch but mostly the chat focused on the UFC.
"I don't know if the human being is meant to do that (go 25 minutes in the Octagon). (Georges) St-Pierre keeps taking a lot of criticism. Well, the reality is you are asking him to do a monumental task, which is to go hard for 25 minutes. Human beings get tired when they go for the kill so they got to time it right, and Georges does plan it right."
