Frormer Strikeforce women's 145lb champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos has spoken about her positive steroids test for the first time since being suspended for steroids by the California State Athletic Commission and cut by Strikeforce. In a new video (after the jump) shot by shot by MMAPrime.tv, Santos claims that the stanozolol found in her system was administered by a teammate who told her it was a weight-loss aid.

"I did not know it was a steroid," she said. "I made a mistake in trusting someone in my camp.""People say the only way I have gotten to where I am now is the use of drugs," she said. "They say I am a cheater. That's not true. I just made the mistake of taking something that was supposed to help me lose weight. I did not know it was a steroid.

"(The result) cost me my belt and made me look like a cheater.

"I want to say to my fans, I'm still training. I'm never going to stop," she said. "Everything I did for MMA is not going to stop here. I will be back."

Santos will appeal her suspension to the CSAC on April 9, 2012.
